I’ve always loved animals…any kind. So I’ve been working on a way to help the less than fortunate animals out there because I can’t bring them all home (that’s what Daniel tells me anyway). After the story broke a couple of weeks ago about the Chesterfield County Humane Society workers shooting dogs instead of using humane euthanizing methods, I just knew I had to do something to help these poor animals.

I’ve always thought so highly of the Darlington County Humane Society. We picked out our cat, Cricket, a few years ago and the whole process was amazing. The people that run the shelter actually care about the animals and know all of the stories that go along with each one. Like our Cricket was left in an abandoned mobile home that was being repossessed with only an open bag of cat food. After a couple of weeks the neighbors could hear her crying inside but the doors were locked so they couldn’t help her. They called the police and they found her inside dehydrated and emaciated. The shelter nursed her back to health and she has been our kitty for 3 years now. Without the love and attention from the shelter volunteers and workers, we wouldn’t have our Cricket and I just couldn’t imagine that. Please contact Jackie at 843-398-4402 if you’d like to find out more about the adoption process. She will be more than happy to help you find your perfect pet.

So I will be holding a Pet Days Charity Event during 2 separate weekends, one on Saturday April 30th & Sunday May 1st and then another on Saturday May 14th and Sunday May 15th. All donations will go directly to the Darlington County Humane Society. We hope that this gives everyone the opportunity to have some wonderful portraits of your furry babies and also help out the less fortunate animals out there that don’t have forever homes yet. Please call 843-245-7320 to set up your appointment now before they are all gone. I know these will book up fast. Find more details below or give us a call if you have any further questions.

Church Fundraiser

November 19, 2008

Hello everyone! I hope all of you are doing well and enjoying this really cold weather. Just kidding!! I really shouldn’t complain but I hate the cold weather and I can’t wait until Spring. Ok, now that I’ve vented about that…on to happier things. We have started a Church Fundraising Program to help our local churches receive funds for projects they are working on. For example, maybe the Children’s Program is looking to buy some new learning material for Children’s Church or the Nursery needs new cribs. It can be for anything that the church needs money for. The church sells Session Certificates and keeps ALL of the proceeds from those sales. We provide our photography services at the church and each client receives a free 8×10 with their Session Certificate. The church has the potential to make thousands toward their need and the client gets a free 8×10 from their session, so everybody wins. Please call us today if you would like more details about our Church Fundraiser. We would love to help your church family with a project you’re working on. 843-245-7320 or email at heather@infinityimages.net.

Annual Fund Drive for NILMDTS

September 25, 2008

With the Month of October being recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, The Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation holds its Annual Fund Drive for six weeks starting in mid-September and ending in October.

President Ronald Reagan enacted Proclamation 5890 in October of 1988 to recognize that each year, approximately a million pregnancies in the United States alone end in miscarriage, stillbirth, or the death of a newborn child. Reagan stated, “A national observance offers us the opportunity to increase our understanding of the great tragedy involved in the deaths of unborn or newborn babies. It also enables us to consider how, as individuals and communities, we can meet the needs of bereaved parents and family members… ” To read the full Proclamation signed by Reagan, CLICK HERE.

If you are in a place to make even a small contribution to NILMDTS, please know that doing so will continue to allow the organization to provide improved resources, training, communication, and other tools necessary in support of our amazing contingent of professional photographers who provide the gift of free remembrance portraiture to families in need.

Our next project we are working on is an online, interactive webinar version of our Formal NILMDTS Training taught by Co-Founder Sandy Puc’ allowing anyone in any country with access to a computer to complete the course online. Donations help make programs like this a reality!

Your Donations Support the Organization in Many Ways – * By supporting the continued education of our volunteer photographers * By allowing us to further our outreach to hospitals and hospices across the world * By offsetting the costs associated with outreach efforts including Formal NILMDTS Traingin Seminars * By supporting the Family Forum which creates a productive and supportive haven for healing * By supporting the Photographers’ Forum which provides a helpful environment for our member photographers to express their feelings and receive advice on the various issues that they face in this noble work * By supporting the day to day operations of our Headquarters Offices.
