I couldn’t wait to share this Sneak Peek of The Pattersons’ Day at the Beach Session from this past weekend. We had such a great time and little J did not want to leave. Who can blame her, right? I wanted to jump in the water myself. Here are just a few of my favorites. Thanks so much Ms. K for coming all the way to the beach to see us!! I hope you love them!

This has been such an unbelievable year so far. I hope it has been for you as well. Between the Studio opening in February and a complete rebranding of Infinity Images, we’ve had our hands full…which is a wonderful thing. We don’t like to be bored!

We are really happy to announce our 2011 Limited Edition Portrait Series Schedule. If you’ve never heard of our Limited Editions before, they absolutely ROCK! They are 30 minute Sessions done on a uniquely themed set so every year is a different look. You don’t have to worry about having the same portraits done year after year.

In addition to our popular Day at the Beach and Field Day Sessions, we’ve added 4 more BRAND NEW themed sets for you. Our most popular Sessions are the Day at the Beach. If you’re interested in this one, you’ll want to book it fast. It always fills up first. Our Dog Days of Summer Sessions are perfect for the pet lovers out there. We make your furry friend a star and you get amazing images to show the world how much they mean to you. Tutu & Ties is all about couture & fashion. Your kids will feel like supermodels on this set! If you’re looking for a unique family portrait, you will want to book the Field Day Session. Your family + a big comfy couch + a big field = AMAZING PORTRAITS!  Our Pumpkin Patch Sessions will be done outside (weather permitting) with the beautiful pumpkins from McLeod Farms.

Our Santa portraits are getting a facelift this year. We wanted to do something totally different (and not cheesy). I know how disappointing it is to have your kid’s portrait taken with Santa at the mall. Our Santa set is going to be a full on experience for your kids. Not just a quick pic assembly line. Our set is going to be a Woodland Wonderland that your children will not soon forget.

Limited Edition Portrait Serier Schedule

These rockin’ sessions will become available for booking on Monday, May 23, 2011. If you’re interested in booking a session, just call the studio and let us know which theme you’re interested in. A $39 Session Fee will book your session. We will have some really great Special Packages to choose from that were designed specifically for these sessions.

We are really excited about our Limited Editions this year and we hope you are too! If you have any questions about booking a session, please don’t hesitate to contact the studio at 843-245-7320 and we’ll be happy to help. We’re looking forward to making some amazing portraits for you and your family!! Be sure to share this post with your friends by clicking the links below. You know they want awesome photos too, right?!

When Cayden’s mom brought him in for his Newborn Session, I knew right away that I was going to fall in love with this little man. He was only 8 days old but already had this seriousness about him. He had that little crease in between his eyebrows that I just died over. After Cayden and I got acquainted, we got him to sleep and he went right along with everything we tried. He was such a good baby! His mom is soooo lucky! Cayden’s big sister Abby came along and was a true model. She had a great time trying on all of our tutus and fairy wings. We had an absolute blast! I can’t wait to see these guys again soon. Here are a few shots of Baby Cayden and his brand new Big Sister Abby. Thanks so much Jessica for bringing your babies to the studio!

I’m going to go ahead and warn you, this post is extremely picture heavy. I had so many to share and couldn’t decide which ones to cut so I just kept all of them. Sorry!!

Over the past couple of years I’ve really felt boxed in to only shooting in natural lighting conditions. Don’t get me wrong, I love natural light..I love the softness on the skin and the eyes. But sometimes I want to try dramatic lighting….and I’d like to be able to shoot outside during the middle of the day without worrying about how harsh the sun will be. While at a photography convention last year, I saw Blair and Suzanne Phillips of Blair Phillips Photography speak about Breaking the Mold. Their whole philosophy is to try new things..things no one else is trying. Trying new things is hard. Practicing new techniques takes time. That’s time and energy most photographers don’t want to put into their craft. I do. I want to try new things. I want to push myself to learn and grow. So when I found out that Blair and Suzanne had recently started doing a Break the Mold Workshop, I was more than excited. I signed up for it right away because I didn’t want to take the chance of it selling out. Then, I had to wait more than 6 months. The waiting was excruciating. I knew this workshop would change my world. And I wasn’t disappointed.

When March rolled around, my friend Nichole of Nichole Alexandra Photography and I headed up to Landis, NC. Nichole and I do a couple of photography trips a year together and always have such a great time. We spend our free time searching for the best places to eat and talking about everything under the sun. We always enjoy the kid/family-free time to just focus on our businesses. That’s not something we get very often so we take full advantage. Of course, there’s lots of gossiping too! Oh back to the workshop.  We were blown away from the moment we walked into Blair and Suzanne’s studio. Everything was absolutely gorgeous and screamed Blair Phillips Photography. We got to meet the other 14 workshop attendees who, like us, were eager to learn.  Over the next 2 days I learned exactly what I needed to learn to bring my photography to the next level. I learned how to use studio lighting outdoors and do it well. I never thought I would be able to shoot a bride outside during midday full sun and still be able to see the details in her dress. I did it…with the help of Blair and his amazing assistants. We also were able to shoot a senior session and add that edge that I need to separate myself from the people that bought a digital camera last week and started a photography business this week. I will forever be grateful for Blair, Suzanne and the rest of their crew for sharing so much of themselves and showing us that it is possible to grow a successful photography business in a small country town. Here are a few shots of their studio and Blair working his magic.

Break the Mold Workshop

Blair was so awesome with the children that came into the studio that day. He got natural expressions out of this little girl while their were 20 other people standing around watching…and let me tell you, that’s not easy.

Blair always says that he would never ask a client to do something he wouldn’t do.

So now that I’ve shown you all of the Blair awesomeness, here are some shots I got while he was demonstrating.

I know no one is going to believe me but I did absolutely no retouching on her skin. That’s what great lighting techniques do!

So what does all of this mean for my clients? It means I have a broader range of choices for selecting locations and scheduling sessions. It means I’m bringing more to the table when I pick up my camera. And that means more awesomeness to display in your home. Set up a session and let’s get started!!

So I hope by now everyone has seen our new Designer Frames. They are curvy, spunky and sooooo much fun! Who wouldn’t want a wall full of these awesome frames?! Hi!! I’ve crawled out from under my rock and finally feel some sunshine on my face. Metaphorically speaking of course, because as we all know, the weather here in SC has been anything but warm and sunny lately. It’s just for the past few months, I’ve been working my tail off trying to get a space of my own up and running. It feels like a century has gone by. I’ve had to slack off on my workload just to get everything done. I’ve had the help of my wonderful boyfriend, Daniel, our kids, Gage and Lindsay and our friend Chris. Everyone has really put 100% into getting this space ready for me and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate them for caring about me and my vision so much.

I’ve been wanting a space like this for some time. I have been shooting on-location and meeting couples for bridal consultations at my home for a long time and just really needed somewhere to call my own. I feel quite sure my family is thrilled to have all of my photography stuff out of our house. It was literally taking over.

I thought it would be cool to post before and after shots so everyone could see just how far the little place has come. Of course, I still have some spaces to fill on the walls. I’ve got a few wall galleries on order that will be in this week but who knows when I’ll get the opportunity to hang them. So I just wanted to go ahead and take some images and put them out there. Let me know what you think!! And thanks again for making my dream of photographing people come true!

Ok, so I know I still have lots of work to do. But it’s a start and I’m so proud of my space. I hope everyone will come out to our Grand Opening Party that we’re planning for March. I’ll post the details very soon! Thank you for stopping by!!

I know, I’m a terrible parent because I’m just getting around to this post and school started 2 weeks ago. As all of you overwork and stressed out mom’s out there know, things are really crazy right after school starts. You have the typical 400 pages of emergency contact information forms to fill out not to mention the effort it takes just to get the kids in bed at a decent hour.

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting all of Gage and Lindsay’s teachers and I have to say that I couldn’t be more lucky. Living in a small town is so great because by the time your child reaches the next grade, you already know the teachers and they are already familiar with your child. So I really already knew most of their teachers but it was nice to catch up with them and to see what the new year had in store for them.

Now that Gage is a sophmore and driving (I can’t believe I’m saying that) I’m sure it won’t be long before he is gone all of the time. So I’m soaking up every bit of quality time we can get together before he can’t stand to be around me. I know it’s coming…it’s just a matter of time.

And my baby girl is growing up so fast. She’s in 5th grade but she still feels like my baby. I remember how grown up I felt in the 5th grade….and I’m sure she feels the same way. She is my fearless, go-getter. She never backs down and always stands up for what’s right.

My goal as a parent is to cherish these small moments because I know they won’t come around forever. It’s the every day giggles and hugs that I’ll miss most when my kids are all grown up and have lives of their own. And it’s then that I will look back at the images I took on the front steps of our home on the first day of school and wish I could get every one of them back.

When Little C’s mom called to schedule his 2 year portraits, she let me know that he was getting his very first hair cut the day after our session. All of the little baby curls were going to be gone and she wanted to document all she could while she still had the chance. This was such a fun session to do even though we chose a day that happened to be over 100 degrees. But really, those aren’t hard to come by in the south during the summer. Now, when you are dealing with this age group, you really have to find ways to draw their attention to you. Otherwise, you only get pictures of the backs of their head. So, I have no problem making goofy faces or silly noises to get the shots I want. Sometimes they laugh and sometimes they look at me like I’m a crazy women but at least they are looking at me. Little C was no different than any other 2 year old. We walked and walked and he taught me how to make dinosaur noises along with monkeys and cows. I had so much fun with him and I can’t wait to see how adorable he is at 3!

Yes, I know it’s not even September yet. But the Holidays will be here before you know it. And do you really want to be running around at the last minute trying to plan a session just to make sure that your Holiday cards are sent out on time. And let’s face it, running back and forth trying to set the timer on your own camera trying to get a perfect family portrait is not easy. I know how terrible it is because I tried it ONCE.

Our Holiday Cards this year are so much fun. We’ve got 4 Collections to choose from with several different versions in each one. You’re sure to find the perfect one for your family. We also design custom cards for our clients that want something that no other family will be sending out. Just give us a call and we’ll be glad to work together with you to design a totally unique Holiday card just for your family.

What do you get when you mix fun, sweet and beautiful with hilarious, handsome and dedicated? Well, we’ll all find out really soon because all of these traits describe Jerry and Tiffany…the world’s sweetest couple. Yes, I call them that. And yes, it’s true. Jerry and Tiffany are expecting their first baby next month (I say first baby because their plan is to have lots!) and I was so lucky to be able to take their maternity portraits.

Little Baby S is due in only a month so it won’t be long and we’ll be doing her first portrait session. I’m so excited! And I’m so excited for this wonderful couple. They are the most deserving people in the world of such an incredible gift. I just think I’m so lucky to be able to share in their joy. Congrats guys and I can’t wait to meet Baby S in just a few weeks!!
