We are so excited about our new partnership with Growing Up Green in Lake City, SC. It is an adorable new children’s boutique that carries everything from silver baby rattles to hot new scarves. We will be offering Growing Up Green’s clients special rates and access to special promotions that no one else will have. We are shooting several sessions with models in their products to hang in their shop. We had so much fun at the first session. I can’t wait for the next one! These kids were so much fun and too cute for words. Here are a few of my favorites and I’ve also added a few of the shop. I’m thrilled that our work will be covering their walls!

New Wedding Website

January 28, 2010

We’ve finally done it! We’ve separated our portrait and wedding websites. We feel like Weddings really deserve to be showcased on their own site so brides can concentrate solely on what they’re looking for - all things weddings! It took a while but here it is!! www.infinityweddings.net You’ll notice that you can still link to our portrait site from there. And you can also link to the wedding site from the portrait site. Let us know what you think and feel free to be totally honest. We love the feedback!!

Mom and I are packing up and heading to Nashville today for ImagingUSA 2010, thebackstage Professional Photographers of America Convention being held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort. We will be packing our days full of classes about the latest and greatest techniques and products in the world of photography. We will be learning from some of the most accomplished and talented photographers in the world.

We have been asked by Get Totally Rad (a place to get totally rockin’ Photoshop Actions) to write several blog posts for them about our experiences at the convention…from inspiration we find in the many classes we’ll be attending to the uber-cool new products we come across. We’ll be bringing along our camcorder for visuals as well. There’s nothing like seeing inspiration in action!

We are truly excited about this trip and can’t wait to share it with all of you. Look out for our updates from the road!

One of the most frequently asked questions we get is “What do we wear for our portraits?” Everyone’s style is different and there are so many choices out there that it’s hard to be really specific. The clothing you choose will have a huge impact on the look of your portraits so it’s very important that you take the time to choose something that represents who you are and how you would like the world to see you. We want you to look fantastic but, most importantly, we want you to be comfortable. Here are a few of our suggestions for looking your best on portrait day:

1) Coordinate in the same color family…this doesn’t mean each person has to wear the same colors. The outfits shown below are a perfect example of how to coordinate colors without looking too “matchy.”

2) Bold, bright colors look great in print so try to stay away from neutral colors if you can.

3) Layers add texture to a portrait. Try layering different fabrics and styles to make the portrait stand out.

4) Women - wear 3/4 sleeves or long sleeves in portraits.

5) Accessories are your friend! Chunky bracelets and interesting necklaces are a definite “DO” for women. Add in a scarf and/or hat and a pair of fab shoes and your portrait is sure to be smokin’ hot.

6) Little girls are always adorable in tutus and pettiskirts. We have several to choose from and they look great with leggings, a tank and a jean jacket.

7) You can’t go wrong with little boys in overalls. Or try a button up shirt with a great tee over it. Newsboy caps or beanies are also lots of fun.

The bottom line is you want your family to look great in your family portrait. This it totally doable without buying an entire wardrobe for everyone in your house. Check out what you’ve already got stashed away in the closet and try some different things. If you aren’t sure, feel free to bring several things and I’ll help you decide what looks best.

what-to-wear

The Image Expert: Great words of wisdom! Vibrant colors, patterns and accessories definitely add interest. Accessories - especially scarves and necklaces - can frame the face and bring attention there, making for a great focal point. http://bit.ly/5VO7I2

Nichole: Greatly put together! I just bought that pink shirt ha ha:)

The Red Cross is holding a Blood Drive at Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Hartsville today from 3pm - 8pm in memory of Josh Howle who passed away on June 17th of this year at the age of 23. Please come out and give blood and save lives.

If you didn’t have the honor of knowing Josh, I’ll tell you a little bit about him. He was a light when he entered a room. He had a smile that would brighten someones darkest day. His laugh was like sunshine. When he gave you a hug, you felt loved. Josh was attending the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine to become a large animal vet. He lived to help animals and people just the same. He was his mama’s baby boy, his father’s right hand man and his brother’s best friend. He was doing things with his life that made everyone around him proud. He was a devoted Christian. He was a goofball and a friend. This is Josh on the right with his Uncle Daniel (my boyfriend). What a pair!

Josh is on the right and my boyfriend Daniel (Josh's uncle) is on the left.

Please come out to Cedar Creek today and gift the gift of life to someone that needs it. I hope to see you out there!

Craig @ Cutting Edge Entertainment: What a noble cause, and so worthy of your bringing attention to it. I'm sure Josh is smiling.

Jason & Ashley {Engaged}

December 16, 2009

I knew from the first meeting with Jason and Ashley that working with them was going to be an adventure. They are totally adorable and so much in love. After talking about several locations for their Engagement Session, they chose the beautiful Cheraw State Park. And let me say, they made the right decision. It doesn’t get much better than a location right on the water with all kinds of little pockets of interesting scenery. The day was really cold and blustery but we had a great time anyway. I know Ashley was freezing but you can’t tell it in the images. She is going to make one beautiful bride. I can’t wait to see her in her dress! Thank you guys so much for hanging in there freezing your butts off. I enjoyed every second of it!

The H Family {Sneak Peak}

November 25, 2009

When brainstorming on a good location to take the H Family’s portraits, I immediately thought of this farm that I know so well. Boys always look great in a farm setting and there is lots of fun to be had. There is nothing better than happy boys for me to take pictures of. We had such a good time and these boys are super cute. I believe they might have been born to be on the cover of magazines. Just look at them!! Here are a few of my favorites from the session. Thanks so much H Family for letting me spend the morning having fun with you guys!

Somer & Frankie {Engaged}

November 24, 2009

When Frankie and Somer asked me to shoot their wedding I was so thrilled. These two are the cutest couple. They laugh and joke and have so much fun together. You just don’t see a lot of that these days. They decided on Kalmia Gardens in Hartsville as the location for their Engagement Session. It’s such a beautiful place in the spring and summer but it’s also gorgeous in the fall. All of the fall colors were out and made for some beautiful images. Well, that and the fact that Somer has the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen!! Thanks so much for making me laugh and making this session so much fun guys!!

Meaghan & Jason {Married}

October 19, 2009

The first word that comes to mind when I think of Meaghan & Jason is FUN! This couple is all about making sure that everyone around them is enjoying themselves. I’m so happy they chose me to capture their wedding day. I couldn’t imagine how incredibly gorgeous everything was going to be.

The event took place at the Millstone at Adam’s Pond in Columbia, SC. The amazing floral arrangements were provided by Scott at American Floral in Irmo, SC.  The food was incredible and the catering staff from Southern Way Catering kept it coming out as fast as everyone was eating it. The cake (made by Parkland Cakes) was not only gorgeous but tasted unbelievable!! And DJ Tad Graham kept on their feet and dancing the night away. Wow is the only word I can think of to describe the day. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of it. A big thanks goes out to Nichole with Nichole Alexandra Photography for assisting me. Here are a few images from the day.
